Chrome extension:CaptureKit — Screenshot & Beautifier
1. Introduction
CaptureKit ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to capture, beautify, annotate, and export website screenshots. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By installing the CaptureKit Chrome extension or visiting our website at https://capturekit.online, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Email address — Pro & Lifetime users only
When you purchase a Pro or Lifetime plan and sign in to activate it, we collect and store your email address in our database. This is used solely to verify your subscription status and unlock Pro features.
We do not collect:
- Your name
- Payment card details (handled entirely by Dodo Payments)
- Your phone number
- Any other personal information beyond your email
No account required for free users
Free features work without signing in or creating an account. We collect no personal information from users who do not sign in.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Google Analytics (website only)
We use Google Analytics on our website (https://capturekit.online) to understand how visitors interact with it. Google Analytics may collect:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Browser type and operating system
- General geographic location (country/city level)
- Referral source
- Device type
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual users from it. The Chrome extension itself does not include Google Analytics.

Google Fonts (text tool)
Free users: 10 fonts are available. Font CSS is loaded from fonts.googleapis.com when the text tool is used.
Pro users: 1000+ Google Fonts available. Font CSS is fetched from fonts.googleapis.com only when a specific font is selected by the user. No fonts are preloaded or fetched in the background.
Google may log these requests as part of their standard infrastructure. No screenshot content or personal data is sent to Google as part of these requests.
2.3 What the Extension Does Not Collect
The CaptureKit Chrome extension processes capture and editing locally on your device. We do not collect or transmit:
- Screenshots or captured images
- Content of webpages you visit or capture
- Browsing history
- Annotation content or comments
- Keystrokes or clipboard content
- Screenshot history (stored locally on your device only)
Your screenshots never leave your browser unless you explicitly export and share them yourself.
3. How We Use Your Information

We do not:

4. Local Storage on Your Device
CaptureKit uses your device's local storage to save:
- Your subscription status and auth session
- Extension preferences and settings
- Screenshot history (last 50, stored on your device only)
This data never leaves your device unless you are signed in, in which case only your email and subscription status are stored in our database.
The unlimitedStorage permission is used to store screenshot history locally without hitting browser storage limits. This data is never uploaded to our servers.
5. Advertising
We may promote CaptureKit through advertising platforms including Google Ads, Facebook / Meta Ads, and other digital advertising platforms.
These platforms may use cookies or pixels on our website (https://capturekit.online) to measure ad effectiveness and show CaptureKit ads on other sites you visit (remarketing).
Important: Advertising pixels and cookies are on our website only. The CaptureKit Chrome extension does not contain advertising trackers, pixels, or third-party cookies.
To opt out of interest-based advertising:

- Facebook: facebook.com/adpreferences
- Your browser cookie settings
6. Data Storage and Security
Where your data is stored: Your email address (Pro/Lifetime users) is stored in our database powered by Supabase. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption.
How long we keep it: We keep your email for as long as your account is active. Request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@capturekit.online. We will delete within 30 days.
Security measures:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- Database access is restricted
- Payment card data never touches our servers (processed entirely by Dodo Payments)
- Auth sessions refreshed securely using Chrome's alarm API

8. Chrome Extension Permissions
CaptureKit requests the following Chrome permissions. Each is used only as described below:

Permissions we do not request: scripting, debugger, webRequest, cookies, history, bookmarks — none of these are in our manifest.
We only request the minimum permissions needed to deliver capture, beautify, annotate, and export functionality.
9. Web Connectivity
The extension connects to the following external services:

The extension does not send screenshots, browsing data, or page content to our servers. Network access is limited to authentication, subscription checks, checkout flows, and optional font loading for Pro users.
10. Your Rights
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data (your email address).
- Deletion: Email privacy@capturekit.online. We delete within 30 days.
- Correction: Email us to update your email address on record.
- Opt out of analytics: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
GDPR (European users): You have rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
CCPA (California users): You have the right to know what we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.
11. Children's Privacy
CaptureKit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us immediately at privacy@capturekit.online.
12. Changes to This Policy
When we update this policy we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- Post the updated policy at https://capturekit.online/privacy
Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
